Android has a very interesting feature that allows websites to install themselves so that they appear like normal apps on the home screen or in the app launcher. Depending on the configuration, they can even be launched without the usual browser chrome so that they really are apps.
This doesn't work for just any old web page though. Your site must be served over TLS, have a Service Worker set up and have a special manifest file.
