2009
| Roland's Photos of the Verbier Trip | |
| Verbier Snowboarding We all hired a chalet out in Verbier for a few days snowboarding... not without incident! | |
| The Arduino Tea Light A set of photos from Chris and my efforts to create an arduino-powered light measure the real-time load on the grid. When it is a good time to make a cup of tea the light goes green. More at the tea light page. | |
| Bike - Rebuilding Wheels My bike wheels were stolen outside David and Jahlia's house in London. Rather than buying a new bike or getting a shop to fit the new wheels, chain and rear-deralieur I decided to do it myself! | |
| Shogun The epic battle, which got somewhat interrupted by going for a Chinese and watching the Star-Trek movie. We'd only completed 2 rounds after 9 hours of play; too much scrutiny of the rules for my liking. At least the board is well documented for our continuation of the game next time. | |
| St. Pancras Station I was in London early in the morning and noticed how particularly nice the light was on the St Pancras station building. | |
| Voyager Superlite 2009 My new tent, pitched and tested in the house and garden. | |
| Dive Club Trip to Wittering I organised a dive club trip to Wittering on the South Coast on the 21st June. We went out on a rib (not the one in the picture!) and dived the T-pot and the Mulberry Harbour. You can see our dive profiles too. | |
| MSR Wisperlite Internationale Stove I bought a new petrol powered stove for my forthcoming trip to Iceland. Here it is being put through its paces. Notice that the minimum weight including empty fuel bottle is about 420g. | |
| Roland's Caterham Sigma 7 On the 18th July I popped over to Ickleford to help Roland build his kit car. The only problem was that after a thorough inventory we found most of the parts were missing which rather limited what we could build! We eventually managed to get the engine and gearbox togehter though. | |
| Iceland Trip - The Laugavegur Trail Photos from my trek along a famous hiking trail in South Iceland with David and Alex. We did the touristy things like the waterfalls, geyser and plate boundaries on the first day then spent 5 days walking (4 on the trail itself). We stayed at mountain huts along the way and spent most of our time chanting "Cotton is Death", or doing the muscle or troll poses! More here. | |
