Kyarra.
We left the pier at about 11:40 and got to the dive site about 20mins afterwards but the bouys were not up. Once the current slows down they pop to the top.
Entry was off the back of the lift after a hooter sounded. I buddied Aiden but found I had to pull myself down the shotline. We were supposed to go around the wreck but Aiden took us slightly off it before realising and coming back. He was having a few problems with his main torch to start with. I was having big problem staying down. I had to empty all the air out of both my BCD and my suit (rather uncomfotable) but still couldn't really stay down. Tried to explain to Aiden but without being too clear. Soon got to 50bar because I was working so hard to stay down. Came up on Aiden's DSMB but I had to grab him at one or two points to stay vaguely level! Dive wise there wasn't too much to see. A couple of wrass and a small crab. The wreck itself is quite disintegrated but there were a few pipes to look in and you can see the ribs sticking up.

Peverell Ledges
On this dive we had the tank filled with 36% nitrox mix and tested it with a gas analyser before setting the computer.
3:40 left from the other side of the pier and sailed for about 5mins to the drift dive site. Martin the skipper gave us a saftey brief before we left and information about the drift. We were expected to head North and slightly East. I was leading this one as part of the dive leader training. Entry was via a backwards roll off the boat and Aiden and I were first in and we went down, reeling out the DSMB. Got to about 15m and drifted, sometimes quite quickly, somethimes rather slowly. Aiden was pissing about a bit (pretending to be a beginner) but I didn't reign him in enough, except at one point where he swam off and I told him to halt and a couple of times where I got him to go back to the bottom where all the interesting stuff was supposed to be). We saw a couple of lobster pots full of lobster and crab and a few wrass. Aiden spotted a couple of crabs of under a rock and that was about it. At 100bar I decided we should start coming up but actually we could have waited a bit longer. We did out 3min saftey stop and were first back on the boat for Aiden to debrief me.

As usual I had problems clearing my ears. It actually took me over 5 mins to get down to 20m with about a minute when Aiden waited with me going down the shot line. Boggie, Sarah and I signalled with our torchres at each other towards the bottom. At the bottom things were a bit murky and we could only really make out the piece of the wreck attached to the shot line. At one point Boggie swam out a bit to try and find another piece of the wreck but Sarah and I could see it was the wrong way and motioned him back. There wasn't really anything around and I don't actually recall seeing any fish. After about 10 mins I think we'd all had enough and Boggie did the DSMB (attached to the wreck) and we slowly surfaced.

This was a WWW II French submarine hunter where people had actually died. Apparantly some were seen banging on the portals as it sunk.
The skipper showed us a nice diagram of the boat as well as key things to look out for such as the sonar pod. Sarah and I also wanted to find a guppy. This was a really nice dive and the contrast with the morning was huge. I'd actually considered not doing this one because of my ears but was glad I did. The visibilty was great and there was loads of life. We saw a spider crab, pollock, wrass and even two guppys. Sarah found one of them on the sonar pod. We swam up and down the wreck about twice and thoroughly enjoyed poking around it.
